I think this movie was a 3/10 in my opinion. Laura Mariano and Noah Centineo had no chemistry throughout the entire film which left the whole movie feeling boring. It seemed as if Noah was disinterested with Laura but tried to force some type of connection between themselves and their characters. The reason why I say this is because into All The Boys I Loved Before Noah and Lana’s chemistry is undeniably cute and real, unlike this movie. At the end of the film, a kissing scene happens between Laura and Noah their kiss had absolutely no spark but Noah somehow made the scene a little better when he says, “Second, I want to do that again.” Sorry but Laura does not know how to kiss which left me feeling bad for Noah.

The characters should have left off as friends rather than ending up as a couple. As for Noah’s best friend within the film didn’t get a best friend/bromance vibe between them what so ever.

Actors can make a movie or potentially break it in half. The same is true for the script and plot of a movie: they can either make a great movie when the actors carry it out correctly or make it impossible for the actors to do their job amazingly and the actors usually get blamed for it rather than the writers or editors because they are the face of the movie. The latter is exactly what happened in The Perfect Date. I have NOTHING against Laura Marano or Noah Centineo, they are both amazing actors and I love most of their works. But the script and writing of this movie made them seem like amateurs and it was hard to watch.
